FAQs Safety, security and privacy
1. Is the Pre-School a secure site?
Yes. A member of staff is responsible each day for unlocking and locking the door at regular dropping off and collection times. All children arriving are logged on our Register and we ask parents/carers to notify staff in advance if a relative or friend will be picking up the child later that day. The staff member on the door ensures children do not leave the building unless accompanied by their parent or carer. Visitors ring our intercom and have to sign a Visitor Book to enter the building. The door is kept locked during all sessions and all external locks on our fences are regularly checked.
2. Are visitors allowed at the Pre-School?
Yes. We encourage people to come and tell the children about their jobs or interests. For example, Fire Fighters or Dentists are welcome to attend. Parents and carers are also welcome to come and talk about their job, family customs or language. Parents and carers are also encouraged to come and read stories to the children if they have time. All visitors have to sign our Visitor Book and are accompanied by a staff member at all times during their visit.
3. Can I nominate someone else to pick my child up?
Yes, but please let a member of staff know when you drop your child off who will be collecting them.
4. Are your policies available for parents to see?
All policies are displayed on our website. A paper copy of individual policies can be provided on request.
