Meet the staff
All our childcare practitioners have qualified at Level 3 NVQ in Children’s Care, Learning and Development or Specialist Support for Teacher and Learning in Schools. They have attended Paediatric First Aid training and Child Protection courses, which are renewed every 3 years. All our staff have had Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks in the last 3 years.
Our staff regularly attend training courses offered by West Sussex County Council Early Childhood Services in a variety of subjects. Many have attended basic SENCO / INCO training courses and several are trained to use Makaton.
The Pre-School is managed by Bev Fuller. Bev is responsible for ensuring the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum within the Pre-School.
Bev Manager
Bev joined the Pre-School in 1996, and is our longest serving staff member. Bev has an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years and is a Designated Person for Child Protection and safeguarding. She is also our Health & Safety Co-ordinator & is trained in the use of Makaton.
Mandy Deputy Manager
Mandy joined the Pre-School in 2007. She has an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years. She is trained in Makaton and safe handling of food and hygiene. Mandy is also responsible for fire safety at the Pre-School and is a Designated Person for Safeguarding and Child Protection.
Sam Early Years Practitioner
Sam joined us in 2011. She has an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years and is trained in the use of Makaton. She also has some SENCO/INCO training.
Marion Early Years Practitioner
Senco/Inco Lead
Marion joined the Pre-School in 2012. She has an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years. Marion is responsible for our COSHH and health and safety. She is trained in the use of Makaton. Marion has also had training in working with vulnerable families and is our Senco/Inco lead practitioner
Catherine Early Years Practitioner
Catherine joined the Pre-School in 2012. She has an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years and is trained in the use of Makaton. Catherine is one of the Pre-school Fire Wardens.
Fiona Early Years Practitioner
Fiona joined the Pre-School in 2017 as Bank Staff and is now a permanent member of staff. She has a Level 3 CACHE Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools.
Immy Early Years Practitioner
Immy joined the Pre-School in 2021 after being with us to do her placement whilst studying for her NVQ in Early Years. She has a Level 2 NVQ in Early Years & is in the final stages of completing her Level 3 NVQ.
Bank Staff
Please note: Bank staff are employed on an occasional basis to cover staff absence. We ensure that full DBS Enhanced Disclosures have been performed on all Bank Staff and that they attend Child Protection training courses.
Amy
Amy joined the Pre-School in 2019 as Bank staff.
Matt
Matt joined the Pre-School in 2019 as Bank staff. He has an NVQ level 3 in Early Years.
Vicky
Vicky joined the Pre-School in 2016 as Bank staff. She has a NVQ Level 3 in Childcare & Development.
Natalie
Natalie joined the Pre-School in 2019 as Bank staff
It is the custom at Fishbourne Pre-School for children to call the staff by their first names.
